Answered request...

I have had several requests to include more written material on my blog, so I have a recent story to add. It involves people who I think should remain anonymous so real or full names have not been included. I hope it makes you laugh as much as I did when it happened.

Ms. B is waiting for her students to return from recess and talking with the teacher next door. Soon the students come barrelling down the hallway as if they had never done anything quiet in their lives. Talking, laughing, and yelling overwhelm Ms. B's senses, and she becomes a bit flustered when she realizes that she needs to immediately return to her classroom before the students take control. As she begins to leave the classroom next door, one of her students stops her.

L says, "Ms. B I got this pear JUST for you." She hands the green, slightly bruised pear to Ms. B. As the pear passes from L's little hands to Ms. B's hands, Ms. B says in a surprised tone of voice, "Oh, that's awfully nice of you. Where did you get it?" L replies, with a matter of fact tone, "Well, I saw it on the floor in the lunch room and the kids were kicking it around, so I picked it up and brought it for you." Ms. B has to hide fits of laughter as she gracefully accepts both the pear and the fitting story behind the gift.

(Kids, you gotta love them, right?!)

Family Time...

It's Thanksgiving Day and ... my sister and I both wore our Durham shirts (which my sister designed) without even coordinating. Are we sisters or what?!

Do you know where I work on the weekends?

Would you like a "big" or a "little" drink? If you say, "small" or "large," I might have to jump over the counter and hurt you.

If you know how much I like bathrooms, then you'll understand why I took this shot. If you are unfamiliar to this part of my life, or forget that I once worked at Ferguson selling plumbing and lighting supplies, or haven't known me since I was five and checking out bathrooms everywhere my family went, then feel free to ask me to relay the many stories to you at some point.

Just imagine me working behind this counter every weekend. Or, rather than imagining, come by and see me!!!

This is my sister's drawing of Alastair. He's one of our regulars at the Ox and Rabbit. Actually, he hasn't come into the store when I have worked on the weekends recently, and I really miss him. He likes cherry shakes and told me the Batman movie was "Tragic" long before I saw it. I have to admit, he was right. (Thanks for taking this photo Bryan!)

This makes me laugh every time I go down to the basement to get milkshake supplies. My sister is really great at making awesome things that make me smile. :) (Thanks for taking this photo too!)

Ahh, the wonderful sky...

The Ox and Rabbit...

This is where I make milkshakes on the weekend. My Ox and Rabbit family nicknamed me Deedee Strawberry, a name I have come to fully embrace and love. Come try the strawberry milkshakes, strawberry sodas, or strawberry floats at the Ox and Rabbit and you truly will not be disappointed. If you happened to ask me to name my favorite drink, I'd tell you to try anything strawberry. :)

Day 1 with my NEW camera!!!
