LAB Photography

I guess I'll finally make a push on my personal blog for my "photography business." I wouldn't say it's quite escalated from a dedicated hobby to a thriving business yet, but I have to start somewhere. I think I've had quite a few opportunities to improve my skills and grow as a photographer. I've learned how to appropriately adjust the shutter speed, capture a moment as it is happening, narrow my composition to include only the important or most interesting elements, and use an attachable flash to enhance a photo (among many other things). I've had great teachers--my brother and his photographer friend Lauren--and I've had some wonderful opportunities to practice with friends.

Earlier on my blog, I posted pictures from Kate's birthday party. I was the "party photographer" and had a great time taking pics for Kate and her friends that day. I was very appreciative that Meg and Loren allowed me the opportunity to not only be a part of Kate's special day, but also to capture her every smile and scream of joy.

Not too long after Kate's birthday, I had the most marvelous opportunity to photograph a friend's wedding. I was unbelievably honored to be asked to do it and was so excited to have my first experience as a solo wedding photographer! You might be a little shocked when I tell you that the wedding was back in October, but it took til Christmas day for me to edit all the photos and finally send them to the bride and groom for review! It's kind of difficult to edit wedding pictures in a timely manner, in addition to teaching and traveling.

I'm going to put a few on here for all of you to see, but if you'd like to see more, please go to my photography blog: www.lb3photo.blogspot.com ... And if you are looking for a photographer, or know someone who is, please mention that I'm available and willing!!
